I havn't checked out the e17 version in mdk contrib for a long time, last
time I did it was a quite old version from september 2003.
I got it working finally on my cooker-system, but always started it from
comandline, never tried using gdm for it.
Try something like the following:
startx /usr/X11

well I dont know if that rpms works i suposse they do, if any can give a
