Some themes that I downloaded seem to be broken insofar as the
backgrounds I saw displayed in the corresponding screenshots do not
appear to load. Everything else appears to work fine. Not sure where to
look to repair them. Is there a theme FAQ that explains the structure
of themes..
I seem to recall this is due to a problem with a specific font. Try
either changing the font that is causing this (it will be in your E17
install path (/usr/local/share/enlightenment/) somewhere, or try
changing themes (look at http://www.cuddletech.com/).

I forgot about e16keyedit (and I even have it installed), but I think you'll find that it requires a copy of keybindings.cfg in your .enlightenment directory (although it may create the copy by itself).
