I just installed Enlightenment on my laptop, and when it boots up I start
a xterm from my .xinitrc file then run enlightenment. Unfourtunately no
xterm appears and when i try to start a xterm by using the mouse nothing
happens.

In your ~/.enlightenment diectory add to the end of your
...e_session-XX.snapshots.0 file (preferably while enlightenment is not running)
the following lines:
NEW: xscreensaver.XScreensaver
NAME: xscreensaver
CLASS: XScreensaver
CMD: xscreensaver -no-splash
