There is no DRI with radeon or radeonhd for this chipset yet; you'll have to
use fglrx for now if you need 3D acceleration.

Usually, udev creates the device nodes and loads the module for you. You can
see if just retriggering it helps:
# udevadm trigger --verbose --subsystem-match=d
