But doesn't inlining the function remove the overhead? I was suggesting
this mainly for readability, it's not really necessary if dma_start isn't
going to be used anywhere else.
I'm attaching a diff so you can see what I'm talking about. Hopefully
this will remove any confusion. :)

I don't have Radeon VE, but I know someone who has it (using radeon binaries
from dri.sf.net downloads)

Is it possible that there will be any trouble with Radeon VE card (without T&L
support) after merge?

Leif,
I've got it. After adding checks and checks to everything I finally
discovered it - in some circunstances (such as a regular wait_for_idle
with no previous buffer submiting as an example) we were firing GUI master
without enabling the BM. It's a miracle the card even worked at all!

I am trying to draw to two windows using one context.
It works for Mesa, but gives severe artifacts with DRI.
It would work to instead use glXCopyContext, but this
still doesn't work for DRI, and it crashes the server
with indirect rendering.
I am using ATI Rage and Radeon, with XFree86 CVS.

I wouldn't waste too much time on accelerating the RENDER extension
just yet. Things are still changing, and then there's the lacking
of a test

Although we still have a couple of bugs & a lockup on the tcl branch, the
situation is in general better than what's on the trunk & I'd like to get that
code merged now. This will also help get the 8500 branch started.
Anyone with any objections should speak up now.

I have a Radeon Mobility M6 LY.
AGP and DRM is detected correctly by the Kernel (2.4.18). I use XFree 4.2.0.
Radeon Framebuffer works with a patch from James Mayer.
Here are the important dmesg parts:
radeonfb: ref_clk=2700, ref_div=60, xclk=16600 from BIOS
radeonfb: panel ID string: 1024x768

Done.
BTW it would be nice if you made your files group writable so other
project members could modify them if necessary.
