Drupal / composer added it in 2020 <https://www.drupal.org/node/3108432>. create-react-app <https://github.com/facebook/create-react-app> generates one. create-vue <https://github.com/vuejs/create-vue> generates one Perhaps it's time for Django to reconsider and catch up

That information is also somewhat lacking, and having it somewhere may encourage more people to apply. One possibility could be to link to one of the recent conference talks[2]
