Hi David,
In talking with some people, they still think name like
org.freedesktop.UDisks is a little project specific and might cause some
misunderstandings. If someone wants to implement a different daemon but
still keep the interfaces compatible with upower/udisks, then name like

Hi developers of upower and udisks,
As we are changing the name of devicekit-power and devicekit-disks to
upower and udisks. I think we can rename the DBus method provided by
upower and udisks in a more system neutral way, after all the target
platform of upower and udisks is not only Linux.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for your reply. Will gnome-powre-manager 2.30 depends on upower?
Except name changing, are there any new features in upower?
Thanks,

We are porting devkit-power to Solaris. I have 2 questions:
1) When will the renaming happen, in one week, one month, before
gnome-2-30's release or after?
2) What level of ABI stability will upower/udisks provide?
Thanks,
Jedy

Hi developers of devciekit-power,
I wonder why reboot/shutdown is not supported in devicekit-power.
According to my understanding, they are related to power management. Is
this because they are already implemented in ConsoleKit?
Thanks,

Hi Arnaud,
For Solaris, I do not know if related drivers are ready in the kernel
But for Devicekit-power, our current plan is just to implement all
features supported by HAL(Solaris version) only.
