I want to start a discussion about deprecating and eventually removing the
functionality in solrconfig.xml.
There are a number of ways to install custom code for Solr, all documented

So you are specifying these options under the wrong place.
You need to use "dataStorage.persistent.pvcTemplate.spec.*", not
"dataStorage.persistent.pvc".
Also this is more of a user issue than a dev issue, so I recommend using
the users@ Solr list, or making a Github Issue under the Solr
Very late response here, but I think this is an awesome idea. I can help
out as well, if we haven't already reached "too many cooks in the kitchen"
amount of members.
