Pixel size 8 (on fonts) has been problematic for a while.
This problem is not limited to OSX.
It is also visible on FF running under linux.
I applied a fix for it yesterday

It must be a config setting, because its legible on my mac (FF2).
However, it is too small. This was one of my complaints about the
recent CSS changes.
