1. I'm a big fan of "release small, release often". This methodology
works very well if you have a smothly working infrastructure for
building, testing and release, which is the case in Maven as well as

to cut the release so urgently?
if it was http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/HAUS-617, I think the
timestamped plugin snapshot I suggested was a better alternative.

similar unfixed bugs in JIRA. I'd prefer as many of them to be knocked
off first.
That said, I'm not volunteering to make the fixes, so if there's a
