A question is probabely to dIon.
You are mentioned as Maven latka-plugin developer and Latka developer.
Could you please tell, what is the status of Latka project?
Will it survive?
JUnit and Cactus thrive and Latka changelog is almost empty
and release info on http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/latk
There is yet another possibility.
project.xml can be always in ISO-8859-1 then national characters can
be used in form &#xhhh; (hex) or &#nnn; (dec).
In this case internal encoding in MavenUtils.getProjectString must be
set to
UTF-16.
What is preferred solution?

know if plugin versions are supportede right now, i.e. if it is possible to have the same plugin
