Do you mean filtering of included XML? If so, XInclude already supports it in
very powerful way - by
using XPointer for this
tuff like that.
Why not use existing solutions, then? I mean, XInclude standard that is
supported by XML parsers and
would not clutter Maven's code.

Nevertheless, such option would allow much smoother migration from poorly

I guess that it would be a good idea to always fallback to the central and print warning messages that mirror did not
contain needed artifact thus can be somehow broken. Monitoring your mirrors more carefully is also a good idea.
