I'll have to go back and look at the code.
Wouldn't it, therefore, make more sense to make all of the methods public
rather than protected?
Something that I wondered about when writing the provider...

You can attach as many patches as you want at any time to any ticket.
I'd suggest to create a new issue (probably a task) and attach the patches
afterwards.
