Shouldn't we keep using 1.1 as the "next milestone"? We should merge
maven-new-unreleased and 1.1 and rename it appropriately whenever we decide
if it is 1.1 or 2.0 or whatever.

I would anticipate that Maven should permit inheritance of the three files
below (project.xml, project.properties, maven.xml), and in this case there
is true inheritance...all properties defined by the child override the
parent definition.

Pretty sure it does in beta-10 - I've been bitten by it before because I

This is because the plugin cache manager parses files before they are loaded and
doesn't parse the 'd files.
I doubt this will change for 1.0.
