Well, I would love to know what you have in mind before we make a lot of
changes. Using Maven to build the web site isn’t particularly fun but it does
build a lot of the web site with very little effort.

I believe I have all the previous logos and you probably do too. Look in
src/site/resources/logo.
This is on master. We have tests there that have been failing for quite a while.

I'd love for design improvements and a new logo for v3! I'm especially
interested in any web changes that make it easier for users to
discover _why_ they'd even care to use the API versus the core as well
as further highlighting our fairly extensive manual.

It's not innocent of failing the build though ;-) I did not look

Also a while back we had a logo contest and from then on changed the
logo with every release. All the logos might be in git somewhere...

The ASF has graphics people that Apache-fy logos and such, I think you
just need to email the marketing list.

I have been tinkering for a while chipping in €500 from my pocket to revamp
Log4j logo and website. I personally think it will be really sad to
announce Log4j 3 to the public with the current visuals. Log4j is by far
the best Java logging framework out there in the wild – no, I am not biased
at all
The patch "seems" legit to me, but I don't know much about pattern
converters.
It is a pretty innocent looking small change – would anybody more
knowledgeable about the subject mind checking the PR, please?
