Dear Apache Geode Developer Community,
After three years of dormancy, Geode 1.15.2 is more than just a release—it’s a
revival. And it happened because you stepped forward.
Your generosity, initiative, and technical excellence breathed new life into
this project. Whether you reviewed code, resol
I wouldn’t put too much weight on “off-heap.” It only stores the serialized
bytes—keys and indexes still reside in the JVM heap. Each get call requires
deserializing the value, so the performance benefit is limited. The
implementation isn't really pluggable.

Dear Apache Geode Developer Community,
While working on the 1.15.2 release, it became increasingly clear that our
website could benefit from a refresh. The current design has served us well,

helpful.
Interestingly, I just got the necessary permissi
Hi Jinwoo,
I'm not sure why you're still having a problem moving the release
artifacts now that you're on the PMC - maybe it takes time to
propogate the permissions.
I haven't ever done a Geode release, so I thought I would see if I
could do the move in subversion and I didn't have any problem -
These are interesting insights, Charlie.
Lucene looks interesting. I would like to explore more but if it has some
interesting practical use cases to test.
Jinwoo, do you have any use cases around it?
About off-heap, yes it was introduced to overcome long STW pauses for CMS.

The Geode PMC is pleased to welcome Jinwoo Hwang as a new PMC member.
Jinwoo joined the project as a Committer in July 2025 and has been
doing great work to get out a Geode release.
Welcome!
