I have a few questions regarding ASF's participation in GSoC this year.
I have approached the Mahout community to contribute to Mahout's
development in the summer (as part of GSoC) in the form of an algorithm.
Trevor Grant, a committer of Apache Mahout has agreed to mentor me and

work to coordinate with the other recurring committers@ traffic (like
the monthly board email, etc.)

My only concern with this is creating a lot of followup discussion and chatter
on committers.
Maybe make the reply-to this list and make it clear that folks need to
subscribe here if they want to see/have followup discussions.
