This bug is still happening in both 12.04 and 12.10. Simple to reproduce. Use laptop with analogue built in Microphone. Plug in a USB Microphone and switch to it. When rebooting Ubuntu the analogue microphone is re-activated and NOT the last Microphone used which was the USB Microphone. In addit
