1. Open terminal
2. sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
3. Add mentioned line in comment at the bottom of the conf file:
options snd-hda-intel model=clevo-p950
4. CTRL+O -> CTRL+C
5. sudo reboot

I can confirm that this is fixed for me too. However since it is still
happening for illumilore I think that my bug was actually bug 881079
instead. Bug 881079 is fixed with the new upstart update. There are also
several other similar (or maybe duplicate??) bugs to this one: bug
