Other music player apps (e.g. Spotify) use space for pause without

This bug is still present in Focal. It seems to have lost focus in
upstream. In Focal it is much harder to remove the extension as it is
even more tightly linked in as a mandatory dependency for a number of
major system components. The only way to remove it is by deleting or
renaming its files.

I worked round this issue by uninstalling gnome-shell-extension-
appindicator. This fixed this issue and also a number of high cpu usage
issues I was seeing. The cpu issues were sometimes severe enough to also
expose weaknesses in the compositor.
I suggest that anyone who is getting problems with

Happened when updating. A number of PPAs enbled, unfortunately, but the
problem immediately went away upon a
sudo apt -f install
and
sudo dpkg --configure -a

I also got the error after upgrading from 14.04 to 16.04
I solved it touching the file /etc/xdg/akonadi/mysql-global.conf.
So it seems the file is getting cached somewhere
I think the bug should be reopened and investigated further. Maybe it is
necessary to flush the cache where the file is hold

Oh yeah ...my Lubuntu 12.04 came installed with "Gnome mplayer" but when I
installed Gnome-Media-Player my problem "player did not initialize properly"
went away and I could pay my wave files on Reverb Nation. I didn't have
problems with video or flash or You Tube.
