think this issue can now be closed.

Until this is fixed, I have reverted back to last released version in
bionic repo. I am posting another screenshot of my desktop here with the
working version of xorg so you have something to compare with. Notice
that only the desktop icons are missing on the photo I posted before
this.

I am running Ubuntu Bionic 18.04 with esm support with the default Gnome
desktop. My xorg-server was using 2:1.19.6-1ubuntu4.15+esm9 without any
problems. Today it was updated to 2:1.19.6-1ubuntu4.15+esm10 and now the
desktop is empty; ie no icons visible and I am unable to op
I do not see any visible crashes. The problem is that no windows will
open for any applications and everything that was visible on the desktop
is now gone.
