Thanks for your comment and link. I forgot to mention that I have tried
to switch "HP/Speaker" and autodetect in alsamixer before submitting
this bug but it's not working.

There used to be an option in sound control panel that I can switch
"play sound through" to headset when using 11.04-13.04, however it's
gone in ubuntu 13.10. Currently there are only two options: "Digital
output(S/PDIF)" and "Speakers".
