Well if Deja Dup is Ubuntu's general / packaged backup solution and it
can not backup system files, then Ubuntu is by default not able to to
proper system backups, only user data backups. Which is a really big
limitation.
I would strongly recommend to add the ability to backup vital system
folder
Two years later, this issue is still there. Removing the file
.config/compiz-1/compizconfig/config solves it.

I would love to have a word with the developer of this feature and I wonder how
this went through QA. It's so obviously broken that it looks like the "feature"
was never tested. And I also wonder what takes so long to just remove the
unwanted "feature".

I would assume that by now a great deal of people do have a hi-res
display and are affected. This bug should receive highest priority,
certainly over feature enhancements as it ruins the experience.

13.4 and makes Empathy rather useless (I see 9 contacts where Pidgin
would show 17 in the same space).

Any update? Empathy is still rather unusable, which really shouldn't
happen in Ubuntu's IM of choice. Also, why can we not simply adjust the
settings anymore?

This ugly contact list that cannot be modified / styled is one of the
major reasons people still switch to Pidgin etc. Why not giving users a
choice of the avatar size (row size)? It's so simple and makes a

@Jerry, this is hardly the same bug as in 2009. But I confirm it does
again appear in 13.4, whereas it worked in 12.10 (after white-listing
Pidgin notifications).
And I also confirm that this is really annoying.
