I have a double boot : in Windows 11, the sound works just fine, with
the speakers and with a headset plugged in. But in Ubuntu (my version is
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS), the sound works fine with the speakers, but when i
plug a headset in my jack port (computer model : Acer Nitro 5),
I confirm the fix. My system: Intel i5-3570K CPU / Ivy Bridge / Mesa Intel® HD

reached end of life this week. This bug was fixed for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

Interesting, I've had this seemingly random garbled sound on 20.04 LTS
since forever, and thought it'd be some sort of AMD HDMI output bug, and
fixed by pulseaudio -k.
But I indeed noticed simply killing speech-dispatcher process fixes it
as well, and now uninstalled speech-dispatcher.
