prime when updating to the 14.04.5 LTS HWE.
The workaround I used was to force the modesetting driver in xorg.config
for the Intel GPU, and not allow changes to xorg.config (see

As per your 1st question - I don't know that since I've only tried using
3 screens in 16.04, prior to that I had a desktop setup (11.04 to 14.04)

The initial report of this was nearly six years ago. If this program is
so "dead," I have to wonder why here in late Sep. 2016 on an up-to-date
Raspbian system this is still the default app run when Xfce users run
the "Users and Groups" item on the System main menu. I guess it's
either not as dead
I experienced once again on September 29, at around 15:00 hrs, but
unfortunately forgot to save a copy of the log before a reboot.
P.S. Worse part is when I tried to activate vibration on incoming calls
so that I don't miss any of those, I hit an issue: bug #1628042.

Czech translation of unity-control-center package contains small typo

With this command, I'm able to run gedit in sudo and get the menu:
sudo -E gedit
The environment variable that matters is DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS.
So you can also get gedit working like this:
pkexec env DISPLAY=$DISPLAY XAUTHORITY=$XAUTHORITY GTK_MODULES=$GTK_MODULES
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=$D
This problem has been happening to me recently with up to date Ubuntu
16.04 amd64 desktop.
Workaround is to clean up the broken state by removing all leases:
1. Disconnect from the network in Network Manager
2. Execute: sudo rm /var/lib/NetworkManager/dhclient*.lease
3. Connect to the network in

I attempted to insert a table of contents in LibreOffice Writer, but
