With the new 14.04.2 update, Xorg stack is now from Utopic, so the
packages named as xserver-xorg-core-lts-utopic, xserver-xorg-input-all-
lts-utopic and so on.

Using pm-hibernate might be prevented by /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d
/000kernel-change.
In this case it would be useful if it could (optionally?) fall back to
pm-suspend.
Also, "gnome-session-quit --power-off" should display the "Hibernate"
action as greyed out / disabled righ
Hmm... Upgrade to a new Ubuntu version shouldn't touch $HOME like that.
Are you sure you didn't do any mistake, like playing with dconf-editor
under sudo?
