A useful start would be to log the output of xrandr --verbose during
every stage of the suspend, resume and attempts to recover the display
on the panel.

I use "xset -dpms && xset s noblank && xset s off" and it seems to work,
but only in the current session, not when after a logout or a reboot.
Otherwise, this is still conflicting with the GUI for screensaver
settings/power management…

You can download the old package from ubuntu:

Install with : sudo dpkg -i libspectre1_0.2.6-1build1_amd64.deb
Do not try and remove the newer 0.2.7 package before you install this
one, that would require you to remove a ton of stuff to sat
