I build the Vanilla 3.14 Kernel and removed the NVIDIA Graphics Card in an

I enabled the PPA, upgraded, disabled the "gsettings" calls in my
session script (workaround for this bug) and restarted my session five
times. So far all of my keyboard and the auto-raise settings are still

Further investigation shows this is intentional on the part of the ocl-
icd package: it has the following in its .symbols file:

So, really, it is up to the NVidia packages to provide these two.

I had the exact same problem, random screen freezing, especially during video
playback in xbmc.
As a shot in the dark i installed caffeine to prevent the screensaver and the
freezing stopped. Hope this helps.

I tried to install the realtek drivers from their website with no success.
However interestingly the cracked and jittering sound got match worse after
installing my NVIDIA GTX 750 drivers.
Before, there were frequent and annoying clicks, now the sound is unusable!

I don't recall what reboot was done, but I grabbed the logs right after an
update.
I'm in Malta and have roaming off, which may explain why there is no mobile
data.

I'm seeing this now too in 14.04. Sam message in the auth.log file.
I'm doing AD authentication, was working fine, ran a dist-upgrade, and
now AD authentication broken. Any suggested fix? I don't have
pam_kwallet package installed and it is looking for the .so?

I have a piano and a laptop. I use a jack - jack cable to send sounds
from piano to my laptop. I can hear the piano sounds in my laptop
without problems, but I cannot record them. The laptop internal
microphone is recorded instead.

Another update... I've lost the connection twice now. It works for a
couple days, then breaks. Now I'm at the point where Blueman doesn't

My media keys were already set to default, so the solution from comment
#4 didn't work for me. What salved the problem for me was adding the
official gnome3 ppa and upgrading gnome:
~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
~$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

My experience was mixed:
My testing method:
- Ubuntu 14.04 LTS fully updated with apt-get
- enabled 'trusty proposed' repo in synaptic
- from synaptic installed (updated) network-manager-gnome + whatever
dependencies it decided to choose for itself
- reboot (just because)

FYI, when you unbind the scsi disk driver by writing the 1 to the delete
knob in sysfs, it takes care of issuing the synchronize cache and
start/stop unit commands. You can see this in dmesg. You mentioned the
usb mass storage driver, which I would not have thought of. I'd bet
that is the issue.
Was that phone abruptly rebooted just before getting the logs and
command output? Seems to me like it was working just fine for a while;
