Retested this. The problem doesn't occur on 12.10 or 13.04.
It still happens on 12.04.2, which is using with nautilus 3.4.2.
Actually 12.10 is also using nautilus 3.4.2. So maybe this isn't a

I started to get the low res complaints after uninstalling Unity. You
can only uninstall so many things (unity desktop, unity menu stuff )
before things get wacky (on various fronts).
It took me months but I found out that removing unity components (menu,
desktop, etc) using the howtos on the net
This bug also affects my laptop. HP Pavillion DV2910 US. I also have a
fast SSD installed. This bug also affects Kubuntu 12.04 as well as Linux

The trouble i have is when opening a LibreOffice file on the network and
saving it by "Save as".

If I look at errors related to this bug, xsessions error log of today
give serveral instances of Fatal IO error 11 in different applications
(gtk window manager, nautilus etc) .
I am also having this problem again since the upgrade to 12.10.
I get
Error saving the document :
Nonexistent file.
then
Error saving the document :
General Error.
General Input/output error.
then the LibreOffice window cannot be closed via the GUI.

Now that I'm on Raring and running the most recent Chromium, the bug is
not reproduced anymore. Not sure how long ago it was fixed - haven't
used that functionality for a long time.
