FWIW, it seems that Cyrus SASL used by pidgin's libpurple is simply failing
with error -1 SASL_FAIL, which is a generic failure.
Starting pidgin in debug mode (pidgin -d) doesn't reveal anything.

@Dario, I completely agree with you.
This feature should be added to nautilus in the same way OSX implements it, not
the windows way. It would even be touch friendly.
This is one example of the reasons why people critizise gnome devs. This is not

With a fresh install of 12.10 (after successfully using 12.04 on another
partition of the same machine) I found I could not add my network
printer (on a synology ds211j). I went to System Settings>Printers and
while the correct printer had been identified, it was identified a
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Ivy Bridge
Graphics Controller [8086:016a] (rev 08) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
So the problem here is that the pci id for this device didn't make it
into precise's libdrm/xserver-xorg-video-intel/mesa/kernel. It is the
same as a deskto
