I'm not sure what LightDM issue you're referring to, but I do believe
similar issues with gnome-settings-daemon dying at any time will cause a
loss of the theme.
However I have tried to be careful to distinguish between different error codes
because there could be multiple bugs. In my case, if th
I figured it out. I went through and edited all the nautilus*.desktop
files and removed "--browser" from them. Now nautilus launches just
fine from both the Places menu and Cairo dock. But that isn't an ideal
solution for your average user. If the --browser option isn't going to
be used anymore
@vanvugt: So maybe this is the same issue that causes LightDM shutdown &
a11y dialogs to not use Ambiance theme?

I seem to be experiencing the same problem with a POP account that's
setup to use global folders (Edit -> Account settings -> [POP account
name] -> Server Settings -> Advanced). Any incoming mail triggers a
notification bubble but fails to change the color of the messaging menu
icon.
