I did some extensive research into this bug tonight and I found that at
it's heart, the issue is that compiz is not properly handling the system
beep. There is nothing wrong with gnome-netool. The root bug is here:

This is an EXTREMELY annoying bug for me. I like using the text location
instead of breadcrumbs so that I can copy-paste file locations (which is
especially useful now that Nautilus no longer has the "open location in
terminal" option on the menu anymore), so there's no quick way to move
to a paren
This bug appears to be fixed. Go to Nautilus preferences -> Behavior ->
check "Include a Delete command that bypasses Trash". The action is
bound to shift-delete by default.

This worked for my YM account. Empathy had it configured to use port
5050. I changed it to 23.
It could have been a work firewall issue. Apparently, valid choices
include 20, 23, 25, 80, 119, 5050, 8001, and 8002. Incidentally, I saw
exactly the same behavior in Pidgin.

(Empty) menu bars not
I should also add I tend to ctrl+alt+arrowkey to switch between
workspaces because I run firefox on workspace1 and tbird on workspace2,
irc on workspace3 and then other random stuff on workspace4.
I used to run everything maximised, but because of this bug I'm
currently running nothing maximised.
Interesting... I tend to use the unity sidebar to switch between
applications, or occasionally alt-tab rather than expo.
I do get the problems when Firefox is *not* maximised, but they happen
far more often when firefox *is* maximised.

Some pages render wrongly when using Ubuntu 11.10 Gtk themes Ambiance or
Radiance.
The problem disappears when using some other themes such as HighContrast.

Take a look at the red bar. Some items are
Latest updates look a lot better on deja-dup. On the backup settings
window, everything appears to be translated now.
There appears to be one more thing left to translate, and it is one of
the buttons on the initial setup screen (see attached photo)

Still seeing this in Ubuntu 11.10 and Banshee 2.2.1. I am unable to
remove the desired songs from my playlists.

I have installed Google Chrome and Opera for Linux, Firefox for windows
under Wine (flashplayer won't install), the beta version of flashplayer
11. But none of it has made the sound work in my browsers.
In Chrome, HTML 5 sound didn't work, but in Firefox it did.
I uninstalled and killed pulseaudi
I did a clean install and moved my config over, same thing happens.
