There's nothing like it so far AFAIK. apt-src is close, but has a
different focus (modification instead of compile-time optimization).

Is this package worth adopting or has it been replaced by something else?
I read the entire bug message history and saw that in 2016 there was some
development going on to replace the package. Has that already been done?
If so, then I presume there is no point in adopting this package.
I intend to do some refactoring of apt-build, but first I'd like to
write autopkgtests for the package. I have two versions of a simple test
case for install command, and I still can't decide what language use for
tests. In attachment you'll find two identical scripts in Bash and Perl.

Hello, I am looking to get involved in debian development and would

Please let me know how I can help this package get out of adoption.

Found this bug which is a bit old but, if you still need more developers,
please let me know. My day job is programming, but I've never contributed to
Debian. I figured a RFH would be a good place to start.

Hi,
apt-build really lacks of support right now.
It works pretty well, but currently it is not capable to deal with
every particular case that it might encounter.
Many improvements could be done, mainly by using libapt-pkg-perl and
enhancing it (like adding new bind
