There was a google summer of code about the integration of nx and xorg. Nobody
did it :-(
I understand all the concerns about creating a "clean" package. But what about
a semi-ufficial package (maybe for experimental) until things will change?
As all of you already said on the pkg-nx-group mail
What is the state of freenx packaging in debian?
I've searched a lot on the web, but there are no recent packages on the net.
Kanotix repo maintainer who had built some freenx packages left the job.
There were some packages for ubuntu, but they are now outdated:

I've packaged this software and compiled it for debian etch i386.
See http://emiscabpo.wordpress.com/ for instructions.
Apt lines are these:
deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/emiscabpo/compiz-0.6.0 ./
deb-src http://download.tuxfamily.org/emiscabpo/compiz-0.6.0 ./

Can I help you packaging newer versions of lirc?
I've seen that ubuntu folks have packaged version 0.8.2, and are
actively maintaning them, that could be a good starting point.
What do you think about this?
