I have tried to backport it from intrepid, but wasn't successfull.
It failed with many warnings and stops on error:

-DQT_QTJAMBI_IMPORT -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DQT_CORE_LIB -DQT_SHARED
-I/usr/share/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++ -I. -I/us
debian/liblensfun0.install and debian/liblensfun-dev.install need to have all
references to usr/lib/ replaced with usr/lib*/ so they correctly match lib64
on amd64.
In addition, slightly different symbols output seems to be made on amd64 so you
probably don't want to check against that file.

This ITP is 18 months old, and while the gtk2 engine was actually
uploaded, I cannot see any new regarding the metacity theme.
Are you still working on it?

deb{-src,} http://non-gnu.uvt.nl/debian etch cocoon
The source package might be useful to get some inspiration when packaging it
for Debian.
