how to config net in WMware?

hI: I try to install Potato 2.2r5 in VMware3.0 on Win2K. but how to and the model for the network card in the VM. i try some models, it said the device is busy,cannot add model,fail,something like that. Does anyone has the same problem with me? From: debian2002
