I noticed that after issuing the

command the $PATH variable has a different value. I think that this is
quite nasty if i added my own paths to $PATH.
Is this a bug, or not?
How can I do to make $PATH remain the same? (set $PATH again in bashrc?)

OK sorry i shold read the man pages
Anyway the problem arises also with gdm:
if i run
startx
in gnome (ALT+F2 -> echo $PATH > ~/what_path) or in a terminal run by
gnome the $PATH is ok
if i use gdm the $PATH is not ok
(since gdm is run as root it will change user id shomewhere)
I installed my brand new version of Debian testing and i discovered
that it manage plugging and unplugging of usb disks and pens
automaticaly and mounts devices in
/media/something.
Now:
1) What program do that?
2) I whant to modifiy the mount options for some devices, i can i do?

I noticed this problem:
if one install the SUN JVM (and SDK) debian doesn't notice it (ok normal...).
So if i want to install some packages that requires a jvm debian will
install a new jvm.
This isn't obviusly what one wants.

I have installed 2.6 kernel and i noticed a differente mouse behavior
(in X eniviroment):
With 2.6 kernel mouse moves faster than with 2.4. So i tried to slow
down mouse with
xset m 1/10 0
that should give a really slow mouse motion, but xset seems to give no results.

enter the formula:

the sum sign isn't displayed correctly, but a pair of inverted
question marks (¿) appears:

I did some reading and this seem to be a common problem.
