I've installed lm-sensors using apt-get install lm-sensors-source,
recompiled the kernel, installed the new kernel with dpkg -i, installed
the 2 created .debs (i2c and lm-sensors) and rebooted.
I ran sensors-detect, and modified /etc/modules:
i2c-isa
sis5595
This is what sensors report:

Problem seems to be related to lm-sensors itself. I've seen one report of
a similar problem. Probably due to the motherboard: a MB-741LMRT. If
someone has any experience on setting up lm-sensors with this kind of
motherboard: i'd be interested :-)

his problem yesterday morning. When I woke up, X had crashed,
so I ctrl-C'd out of X in vt1, and restarted by typing startx. That's when
the problem you described occured.
Hope this helps tracking it down... (although it didn't bother me that
much, since this is just my home PC)

I've noticed a strange problem with apt-get: it downloads packages
twice. Any ideas what could be causing this? I'm using Woody, and I've
noticed this error for some weeks now. It seems to have been reported in
bug report #79277, but it's still causing a lot of excess traffic up until
today...
Why should updatedb be run with the option --localuser=nobody ?
Can't this be run as root, because this way, not all files on my system
are catalogued. Is there a reason for me not to remove this option?

Well, it turned out one has to do some nasty trick to get X up: after
entering startx, all output is delivered to the second monitor port on the
Matrox G450 card, so you have to hot-swap your monitor (if you're working
in single-head mode like me) to get X up and running.

I upgraded ssh on a woody box, and it failed because of some incorrect
dpkg option. I solved it by installing ssh-nonfree. I should probably file
a bug report...
