What I ended up doing was compiling the sound directly into
the kernel, using the Sb option on IRQ 5. Other than that, the
defaults worked perfectly.

*). Does anybody know how this file should look like, in order to write

Does anybody have any idea what could be the reason of Netscape getting
killed w/o any apparent reason?
It is happening frecuently later, some times while I type some message,
which is annoying.

You can't connect to another box with ssh using the root account. It's a
security feature. The default is to use your current username, which would be
root in this instance. A way to get around this is with the -l option and then
su on the remote box.

Maker preferences don't seem to do anything. Is this a problem of X
in general or Window Maker? Mouse focus changes do work.

I have installed Knapster on my potato box
and when I try to run it it says:
knapster: error in loading shared libraries: libkdeui.so.2: cannot open

Is there a way for Mutt to display how many messages are in certain

I am using mgetty+sendfax on top of potato linux box. It works pretty
well (sends/recieves faxes) but sometimes (and always when I am sending
a fax to the same target fax machine) the sendfax manages to send only a
couple of pages and then fails to fetch the OK signal and hungs.
