After the last lenny update, everytime I restart end enter gnome a
window pops up:
Error activating XKB configuration.
It can happen under various circumstances:
- a bug in libxklavier library
- a bug in X server (xkbcomp, x

playing around with xkbcomp and its different options

The reason I'm asking is that I set up a thinclient, i.e. an x-terminal
with just Xorg running on it. When X starts it gives the '(EE) Couldn't

i have a problem with xkb which cannot solve.
i use sid (but the problem arose while sarge was installed on my
laptop);
after a crash provoked by hibernate, apparently, something was
corrupted.
gnome started but a couple of pop-up win's appeared warning that an

I install Xfree86 from testing and I have problem with XKB - I cannot switch any
keymap & keyboard. I see when start X:
Couldn't load XKB keymap, falling back to pre-XKB keymap
Does anybody have an idea on how to resolve this?

I had the same pb and I found a symbolic link that was
wrong. I did :
rm /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/compiled
ln -s ../../../../../var/state/xkb compiled
and it works.

I have been trying to solve this problem for some time now but to no
avail.
When i use the XKB extentions for X and i try to set scroll-lock
to mode-lock from XF86Config it doesn't do anything.
xkeycaps doesn't have mode-lock at all.
Also when i try to set up the keboard with xkeycaps to output heb
