Hi,
I installed Debian Wheezy with no desktop environment as I would like

step, I need to install xserver. I would like to install minimal
components needed for running the xserver. What are the exact

Hi,
In Jessie running the Nvidia driver and Virtualbox 4.2.12 I occasionally
get an X segfault, like this:
http://pastebin.com/Jp6KQytw
Is this reportable as a bug? And what package should it be reported to?
The segfault always occurs as I switch screens with alt+ctl+F.

I'm running x.org 7.5 on Debian Testing, on a ThinkPad T400 laptop. For
some reason, it detects the internal display as 96 DPI, when it's
actually 107 DPI. What's the best way to let x.org know the internal
display's actual DPI?

Since the latest sid upgrade, I haven't been able to make use of the nvidia
drivers. Here's the x.org output:
xauth: creating new authority file /home/baloo/.serverauth.30719

I have to advice the customer about what kind of fonts will work with
X.org+defoma+whatever (e.g. Truetype? Type1? others?)
2. then I'll have to install such fonts. Is it enough to copy the files
into /usr/share/fonts/? Or should I take care of other things?
3. How do I alias a font name?

A colleague did a dist-upgrade, sarge to etch, and everything
still worked except the X Window System. dpkg-reconfigure
left him with "No screens found" X unusable.
The standard fix for that, boot Knoppix and use the xorg.conf

Hi,
I need to upgrade my laptop without upgrading X.org. The laptop is a
reasonably up-to-date etch install with X.org 7.0.22 and proprietary
drivers from ATI. (As soon as I have time and can risk a non-working X
server I'll upgrade those too.)
I want to pin X.org, but am not clear o
Hi, I would to rebuild X.org 7.1 from unstable backporting it to
sarge. Is there any particular order that should be followed in
building these packages?
TIA

Hi,
I'm having one usability issue with a debian workstation FAI image I'm
trying to set up.
The "/dev/input/mice" device only exists when a mouse is actually
plugged in. When X is running, you can unplug/plug the mouse back in and
things will still work. But when the mouse is unplugged a
