Hello:
Before I talk about problems, let me say that the 1.2 release
that the people here have produced is very impressive and fairly
solid. Nice work! I've got an AST Ascentia laptop running with full
X, mouse, sound, ethernet, ppp, and power management. All with just a
few days of tweak
Last night, I upgraded 2 machine to 1.2 from 1.1. All went fairly smooth,
with 2 hitches. First, I had to install the 'rex' ld.so, because
dselect/dpkg couldn't resolve the pre-depends on libdl. 2nd, cron
was killed/died, and not started up again. I didn't catch this until
this morning when I dnd't
It's not ldso. Add the following to /etc/modules and reboot:
serial
ppp
Thanks

This problem goes away, after I reboot the system, i.e shutdown now -r
But this time I have the follow error message when I run pppd:
Sorry - this system lacks PPP kernel support
I can run PPP in 1.1, before I upgrade to 1.2. May be I need to recompile
the kernel again to include PPP support
I upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2. After the upgrade I have the follow error
message when I try to run pppd:
pppd: can't load dynamic linker '/lib/ld.so nor
/usr/i486-debian-linux/lib/ld.so'
I also have the same message, when I run other programmes such as fortune.
How to fix it?
