Hi, I am using netinstall 5.0.4 of Lenny and I wonder if somone can throw some light on cdrom-detect udeb package which is part of debian installer. I can not find cdrom-detect.udeb in debian netinstall CD of lenny. Reason to ask this is to understand that what is the flow of CD/DVD-Rom detection

udeb are never installed to a harddrive. dpkg is used by debian-installer to install real debs to the hard drive. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi list members, Bit new to Debian. Up to now I only new and read of *.deb files only. Now while trying to learn more about Debian I find a lot of *.udeb files on the cd's. On disc 1 there is 1038 .deb files & 145 .udeb files. Kindly please what is the difference .. etc.
