Where you have /etc/console/boottime.kmap.gz, you could instead create
2 files in /etc/console boottime-.kmap.gz. Then in
/etc/init.d/keymap.sh make the followin changes:
Add a line near the top, where you see other variable definitions, to
define:
VERSION=`uname -r`
then below, change this lin

i use some special speech software which is patched
into the kernel and therefore also changes the default keymap. i have also got a
non-talking kernel. in short, i want to have two keymaps, one to load when the
standard kernel is booted and one to use when the other kernel is loade
