I maintained a LAN web/mail server and today the server does work properly:
The server is using the Etch, and I will do a 'apt-get -f
dist-upgrade' each day and make some adjustments if needed, everything
looks fine yesterday.
Today I performed again the dist-upgrade seems nothing

I just duplicated my system onto a Thinkpad T40 like this:
- used netinst to install a base etch system,
- used a generated list of installed packages from my old (dying) machine to
install all the same packages,
- compiled an extra kernel from Debian sources using my old kernel co
Thought that this link might be of some use.

problems like this are the hardest to track down. There are several
things you can try to narrow it down.
BEFORE TESTING
I am running Debian Sid with an AMD Athlon 1400 512 DDR 2100 Crucial ram
2-40 gig 7200 WD hard drives and GeForce Ti 200 video card. I am having a
terrible problem with the system crashing (hard, keyboard is dead only way
