You might have to go back through and specify the options under Advanced by
hand. You can look up

I am not sure what you mean by "downloading programs". With Debian, you
will usually be installing software from (semi-) official repositories.

Unless I'm mistaken, it doesnt show anything when you type the password
in command prompt.
