Some new information about SANE scanner problem: Debian (scanner not working): libsane 1.0.24 libsane-common 1.0.24 Ubuntu (scanner working): libsane 1.0.23 libsane-common 1.0.23 To experiment, I used synaptic to remove everything related to SANE on Debian Jessie, and then compiled SANE 1.0.23

I'm trying to get my scanner working. It's listed under /proc/bus/usb/ as shown below. Hotplug loads libusbscanner with some chown errors also shown below. When I start kooka, I'm not presented with my scanner as an optional input device. How can I further trace this problem. I guess theres

I have scsi generic support, and aha152x support compiled in the kernel (potato with 2.2.13) and have sane installed. The scsi card is Adaptec 1505. The kernel recognizes the card fine. I didn't have the sg devices in my /dev directory, so I did a MAKEDEV sg to make them. I made the sym. link fro
