If it is built as a module (and I guess it is), that is really eas
Trying to set up my AMD64 with the 2.6.15 kernel.
When I compile the nvidia kernel modules, it tells me that
they are incompatible with the rivafb functionality, and I have to
disable this in the kernel (which is a stock Debian kernel) before I can
use them.
How do I go about this? Presumably
put "rivafb" in u r /etc/hotplug/blacklist

Did you try "video=vesafb"? If you do not want any frame buffer, not
loading the modules (assuming they are compiled as modules) should do
it. Search the list for "loadable kernel modules&qu

I'm trying to compile/install the non-free nvidia drivers through
module-assistant, but it bombs through a sanity-check complaining of
"rivafb" being installed, and that this can cause problems once the
drivers are installed.
I've asked a few people, and sent some stuff around
Hellow!
How do I turn on framebuffer via rivafb module?
It's always vesafb module loades instead.
I need rivafb to have bigger refresh rate in console.
Thanks

I recently updated my sarge box. I was quite sleepy so I did
#apt-get -y upgrade
After the upgrade, rivafb module gets loaded before nvidia. And nvidia
fails to load. I am wondering what causes rivafb to load since its a
module and I can't even find a line containing rivafb on
#grep -r r
