Hi. I have a system in the cloud and after upgrading it to buster,
logwatch is no longer logging proftpd messages. I looked and they
seem to be in the auth.log file, doesn't logwatch search that file?
How can I get logwatch to check proftpd entries now?

I’ve been through this when installed proftpd.
After reading through many sites I also found that it seemed that the only
solution to make it work was to change the server type. It never worked for me.
However, it seems that I had some newbie luck.

I finally changed that /var/lib line to /usr/lib so that error message is a
thing of the past. Now I get an error ipv6 getaddressinfo. It is testing my
"machine name" and finds no such address or service.

is. When I disabled reverse DNS on the proftpd system, the timeout

hi everybody,
i've got problems removing my proftpd. every time i try to remove it with
the command dpkg -r proftpd or dpkg -P proftpd i get following error
message:
eco1015:~# dpkg -r proftpd
(Reading database ... 20849 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing proftpd ...
Hi, i just want to know if there is any utility that can configure ProFTPD
for multiple users with defaults roots and quotas ? Or any detailled
tutorial or howto for beginners ? I really need to make ProFTPD work like
that.

Proftpd only has one config file, and it doesn't seem complicated. However,
it seems I only have anonymous ftp service. This is interesting because all
of the anonymous section of the conf file is commented out by default. What
am I missing? What is the key element in having "normal&
