Hi there,
We have a duplex-capable HP LJ 5MP/Sx at the lab and instead of
editing the postscript headers for every file I want to print duplex,
it would be much nicer if I could just have an additional entry in

/etc/printcap
I looked in the samba and lprng docs for a while (only superficially the
latter one), but it may be easier if someone had already solved this:
Could you send me a sample lprng printcap entry that accesses a
Windows network printer via smbclient and also uses magicfilter.
Thanks a lot,
Nils

I've got an /etc/printcap (permissions = -rw-r--r-- root root) that looks
like:
beeper:\
:if=/home/westk/beeper-filter:\
:lp=/dev/null:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/beeper:
(permissions on /var/spool/lpd/beeper = -drwxrwxr-x lp lp)
and a /home/westk/beeper-filter (permis
I've posted this before, but I'll try again.

Here's mine - it looks a bit hacked but it works fine.
lj4000|lj5-remote:\
:lp=/dev/null:\
:sh:\
:rm=lj4000.acetech:\
:rp=raw:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lj5-raw:
lj4000.acetech resolves to the IP address of the printer on our network.
Ours has a duplexer on it

I have a 4000N, but it's close enough.
Hello, can anyone help me with a correct printcap entry for HP LaserJet
4000?

Hi. Just browsing through the list and found the following

Okay, I'm getting closer to my goal of routing a printjob to both an
email message and a printer.
My beeper-filter looks like this:
#!/bin/sh (originally /usr/bin/perl)
my $MAIL
open (MAIL, "|mail -s \"911 Call\" [EMAIL PROTECTED]");
while (<>) {
print MAIL;
print;
}
close (MAIL);

Maybe I just don't understand how printcap/lpc/filters work (very
likely).
I've got a printcap entry like this:
beeper:\
:if=/etc/magicfilter/beeper-filter:\
:lp=/dev/null:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/beeper:\
I've got a filter named beeper-filter that looks li
